ALICE HOLT WOODLAND PARK
Situated 17 miles
from Privett off the A31, Alice Holt Woodland Park is an ancient forest
famous for its oak trees, which once supplied timber for navy ships, and
more recently for a replica of Shakespeare's Globe theatre in London.
Today Forest Enterprise manages the site as a woodland park. Marked trails
of different lengths provide easy access to the woodland. There is a timber
adventure playground, excellent assault course and woodland sculptures.
The education team provide curriculum-led woodland education and teambuilding
activities. The park is also suitable for self-led exploring. Course information
pack available for primary and secondary schools.
Hampshire County Council
has developed a 10km waymarked cycle route between Lindford and Alice
Holt Woodland Park. Maps available from Tourist Information Centres.
