BUTSER HILL
The open landscape
of Butser Hill contrasts the wooded slopes of Queen Elizabeth Country
Park. A flat topped hill with few trees, and the highest point on the
South Downs, it is a great place for walking, flying kites and model planes
and enjoying the Hampshire views. The Hill's prominent BT phone mast can
be seen from the Privett Centre. Access from the A3 south of Queen Elizabeth
Country Park.
At Butser Ancient
Farm an experimental Iron Age farmstead offers a range of Living History
outdoor activities and curriculum-led learning for schools. Preparation
visits recommended. Signed from the A3.
