GILBERT WHITE FIELD STUDIES CENTRE
The Gilbert White
Field Studies Centre is housed in a newly restored medieval barn in the
grounds of Gilbert White's House and the Oates Museum in Selborne. The
Field Studies Centre has long offered day courses on natural history and
environmental studies to adults and children at all stages of the curriculum.
Led by highly trained staff, the new centre, officially opened by HRH
the Prince of Wales on 10th July 2002, is a fabulous resource for study
and is equipped with microscopes and designated work areas.Suitable for
key stage learning;preparatory visits required.
Selborne Hanger and
Gilbert White's zig-zag walk provide the backdrop to this historic site.
