OLD WINCHESTER HILL

A national nature reserve, Old Winchester Hill is one of Hampshire's great iron age hill forts.Situated high on a chalk ridge with steep downland slopes with wonderful views to the south coast and the Isle of Wight, the Hill is rich in butterflies and wildflowers in spring and summer. A nature trail marked with posts is easy to follow. The site is managed by English Nature. Parking for minibuses possible but please book your visit in advance. Dogs on leads. Old Winchester Hill is in Droxford, 5 1/2 miles from Privett.
