OLD WINCHESTER HILL
A national nature
reserve, Old Winchester Hill is one of Hampshire's great iron age hill
forts.Situated high on a chalk ridge with steep downland slopes with wonderful
views to the south coast and the Isle of Wight, the Hill is rich in butterflies
and wildflowers in spring and summer. A nature trail marked with posts
is easy to follow. The site is managed by English Nature. Parking for
minibuses possible but please book your visit in advance. Dogs on leads.
